A Wonderful Award!

Best Inspirational RomanceI am so pleased to announce that AUTUMN WINDS, the second book in my Seasons of the Heart series, has recently been named Inspirational Romance of 2012 by RomanceReviews.com. I was excited last year when the reviewer emailed to tell me she had given my book a “Perfect 10” rating, but this win for the entire year is frosting on the cake.

WHY am I excited about this particular award? Because I had nothing to do with it! To win a lot of awards, you must nominate your own book–or have someone nominate it for you–and sometimes for online awards, you must then go begging to your friends, saying “VOTE FOR ME!” I really, really dislike these popularity contests, so I don’t participate. It just doesn’t feel right to me. So, compared to many other novelists, I don’t have a lot of awards listed beside my name.

That updates you for now, although it’s nearly time to bring on the 3 new books I have coming out this fall: WINTER OF WISHES, AN AMISH COUNTRY CHRISTMAS, and AMANDA WEDS A GOOD MAN. You can see more about those now on my Upcoming Titles page, and newsletters will go out soon! Thanks so much for your interest in my books.

Hi, Leona! Thanks for stopping by! As you can see, I’m getting quite a line-up of Amish titles in both my series, and I’m glad to have you checking it over.

Thanks, Michelle! With WINTER OF WISHES, AN AMISH COUNTRY CHRISTMAS, and AMANDA WEDS A GOOD MAN all coming out this fall/winter, I’m determined to keep books in my readers’ hands! Right now I’m writing BREATH OF SPRING, the 4th book in the Willow Ridge series.

I want to send my congratulations to my special and most deserving friend for your recent award for Autumn Winds which is my favorite in your series of the Jamesport Amish thus far. I would say many more awards will be coming your way in the future.
Working with you is so much fun and a rewarding experience when I see an idea, little known fact, or a piece of history like the flood of ’93 and the Burkholder’s house burning down in this nostalgic paradise I call home.
You have many fans here in Jamesport and not just the Amish people that keep asking me, “When is Charlotte Hubbard’s next book coming out?” Thank’s for being a very dear friend.

Jim, what fun to see you responding to my blog! Blessings on you again and again for the invaluable information you share with me so my stories can be more authentic. You’re an inspiration in more ways than I can say!

I am a big fan of Amish fiction but had never run across your books until my husband and I visited Jamesport and met Jim Smith on June 12. Jim showed us a couple of your books and bragged about your writing. I’m hoping to get a chance to read something of yours soon.

I do a lot of reading and reviewing books on my blog (http://southerngallovestoread.blogspot.com), and a large percentage of those books are Amish. If you’re ever looking for someone to do a review, let me know.

Congratulations! I admire you for not nominating your own books or asking others to do so. So many authors are constantly having these contests to keep readers interested. I don’t participate in those, and I appreciate that you don’t. The writing itself should be enough for readers to be interested. Enough of my opinion! I have enjoyed each of your novels that I have read, especially Abby’s Calling and Rosemary Opens Her Heart. I look forward to all of those coming out in the fall. You have a gift.

Thanks so much for your kind words, Donna! Contests don’t interest me, either—I’ve got too much writing to do, keeping up with deadlines on two series, to spend a lot of time on hoo-hah. I so appreciate you taking YOUR time to compliment my work! Bless you! You made my day!
